Sophia (The Invitation)

Sparkling diamonds scattered over an open sea.

Daybreak splashing watercolors as far as the eye can see

I watch you walk towards me, hair as black as coal

Your eyes look right into me, with wisdom, centuries old

You lead me to a temple, just up the beach

Where prayers are whispered to a God, just out of reach

Candles light the faces on the ancient walls

I sit as you're pilgrim, waiting to be called.

Stillness is the sacred language that few understand

It’s the sacred tongue of lovers who come with empty hands

I know you as a sister, a lover and a friend, you promise to be with me to the very end

The corners of your mouth, gives your heart away.

The cadence of my breathing, means I’m here to stay

Candles light the faces on the temple walls

I sit as your pilgrim, waiting to be called.

Stillness is the sacred language that few understand

It’s the sacred tongue of angels who wait on your command

I know you as a sister, a brother and a friend, you promise to be with me to the very end

Sparkling diamonds scatted over an open sea.

Daybreak splashing watercolors, as far as I can see

I watch you walk towards me, hair as black as coal

Your eyes look right into me, with wisdom, centuries old
