That Dress

Just above her knees, floating in the breeze.

That dress in the wind, rose and fell again

Walking from her car, heading to the store

Made me think of you, when our love was new

No need to rewind time, our love like a fine wine

And every girl I see, brings you back to me

Though 50 years have passed, that day the dye was cast.

Watching you walk by, love caught me by surprise

Just above your knees, floating on the breeze

That dress in the wind, rose and fell again

Children came and went, on them our youth was spent

Now that they are gone, our love is just as strong

No need to rewind time,  our love like a fine wine

And every girl I see, brings you back to me

Though many years have passed, our love was made to last

Watching you walk by, love caught me by surprise

Just above your knees, that dress in the wind

Floating on the breeze, rose and fell again
